AM Full Form

So here AM is expanded as Anti Meridiem which in simple words is before midday. If I elaborate this, AM is the time which counts before afternoon 12 time.

PM Full Form

Now PM is expanded as Post Meridiem which is clearly understandable that is after the midday. It basically counts the time which is after 12 in the noon.

AM PM Full Form

So for the 12 hour time zone where usually people got confusion. AM and PM Full Form released and it simply differentiates the day and night timings. And to create this type of thing, they divide a whole day that is 24 hours into two different time zones each of 12 hours. And here the first 12 hours from 24 hours window starts from midnight (12 am) to noon (12 pm) that is AM. In the same scenario, the second 12-hour start from noon to midnight for 24 hours (12 pm to 12 am). So, the numbers from 1 to 12 followed by am or pm are used to identify all 24 hours of the 12-hour clock system.

AM:

It shows time from midnight to noon. (12:00 AM to 11:59 AM). For example: If you say that you have to go office at 9 AM, it means 9 O’clock in the morning.

PM:

It shows time from noon to midnight. (12:00 PM to 11:59 PM). For example: If you say that you have to join the party at 9 PM, it means 9 O’clock at the night.
