Flipkart has introduced a separate marketplace model known as Flipkart Xtra to provide flexible earning opportunities to Individuals, Service Agencies, and Technicians. Flipkart has taken a big step to create 4000 jobs before the festive season. The move will also strengthen Flipkart’s supply chain to ensure seamless and fast delivery of shipments and service to customers across India, especially during positive sales.

Every year around Diwali, e-commerce platforms including Flipkart and Amazon hold sales throughout the day and offer discounts on electronics, home appliances, smartphones, laptops, and more categories. In such a situation, Flipkart’s has launched a standalone app for Flipkart Xtra to ease the onboarding process. The app can be used for background verification of job seekers. They will have to give necessary details like their educational qualification, work experience.

Job seekers will be able to onboard themselves for various roles, including Delivery Executive and Service Partners or Technician, in the coming months. The new app will help thousands of individuals, technicians, and service agencies across the country offer access to extra work and earning opportunities as delivery partners.

Talking about Flipkart Xtra, Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Flipkart’s said, “As an organization comprising sellers, artisans, MSMEs, grocers, and customers, we are constantly expanding. This will help individuals find an alternative source of income while contributing to the economic recovery of the country.”

The ‘Flipkart Xtra’ app will allow participants to sign up from anywhere and choose their preferred delivery schedule. This is an extension of Flipkart’s optional delivery model, which includes the Flipkart Kirana program, growing exponentially over the years. The grocery delivery model has completed 10 million shipments during last year’s festive season.
