NCC Full Form: What is NCC?: The full form of NCC is National Cadet Corps. This is the Military Cadet Corps of India which provides basic military training to the students of schools and colleges. This includes the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Its aim is to make students disciplined and patriotic citizens.
Its Headquarters are in Delhi and its Directorates are located in various states of India. As of 1st January 2021, Lt. Gen Tarun Kumar Aich is the Director-General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Motto of NCC
The motto of NCC is Unity and Discipline. Living up to its motto, it acts as a coordinating force of the country which brings together youth from different parts of the country and takes them into united secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.

Flag of NCC
The current NCC flag was introduced in 1954. It has three colors red dark blue and light blue. These colors represent the three services of the Corps, i.e. Red represents the Army, Dark Blue represents the Navy and Light Blue represents the Air Force.
Training Of NCC
In India, the preparation of NCC is done to the students of school and college. NCC is a Triangular Service Organization in which the Army, Navy, and Air Force are engaged in grooming the youth of the country into very disciplined and patriotic citizens. Any student of this organization can join it as per their wish. For your information, would like to tell you that all types of training related to the military are given to the students joining this organization. In NCC training, it is told that if you want to join the army, then how you have to live there and how to face the enemy.
Basic level training is given to the students in NCC. You must have seen that NCC sometimes organizes camps in the village. The main purpose of setting up NCC Camp in the village is to call the children in and give them training. NCC is considered a Triangular Service Organization. In this, the three forces are included in the Army, Air Force, and Navy. While training students in NCC, small arms, walking training is given.
NCC is known all over India for its discipline and patriotism, in NCC you are taught all these things to love the country and how to stay in the discipline. National Cadet Corps is really a very big and good unit that is continuously working to guide the future of the children of our country. How to Join NCC?
Now let’s talk about how to join NCC. The candidates who are in NCC are students of some school or college. If you want to join NCC, then we want to tell you for your information. You can join NCC by contacting the NCC teacher of your school or college. To join NCC, you have a small physical test and for this, you also have to fill a form.

After that your NCC training will start, if there is no NCC course in your school or college, then you can join NCC in any school or college around you. There are 2 divisions in NCC, First Junior Division and Second Senior Division. You have to join any one of these divisions according to your age and class.
NCC candidates are divided into 2 divisions on the basis of training –
- First Division
- Second Division
Establishment of NCC
If we talk about the establishment of NCC, then we would like to tell you that NCC was established in India in the year 1947. NCC was established with the National Cadet Corps Act, it took place on 14 July 1947. The NCC was originated under the Indian Defense Act 1947, with the aim of meeting the shortage of the Army.

- Preference is given to NCC candidate in state and central government appointments.
- 64 seats are reserved in the Indian Military Academy for the candidates who have C certificate of NCC.
- For NCC candidates, there are 6 vacancies in every Navy course and 10 percent relaxation in Air Force in every course.
- Candidates who have NCC B or C certificate do not have to give written exam of CDS in Short Service Commission.
