How to become a PCS?
The full form of PCS is Provincial Civil Service. This organization is related to the state level. That is why it is also known as State Civil Services. Yes, recruitment in this organization is done by the state government. Next, we are telling you what qualifications you should have for this exam.
To become a PCS, you have to clear the competitive examination conducted by the State Service Commission. This exam is conducted in three levels which are Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Every exam has a syllabus and every exam has a prescribed syllabus, which helps in cracking the exam, as it gives an idea of what you have to study.
There are 2 papers in its preliminary exam, for which you are given 2 hours. There were 150 questions in the first paper and 100 questions in the second. Not only this, you have to give 8 papers in the main exam. Yes, in these 8 papers, you have to take 4 compulsory subjects and 4 optional subjects. The optional subject paper is 150 marks. After this exam, you have to give an interview, which is of 200 marks.
Age Limit for PCS
To make PCS officers, a different age limit has been kept for all the categories and in this the candidate’s age has been kept minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years in which age relaxation is given to ST / SC and OBC (maybe different for different states).
Educational Qualification for PCS
PCS candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from any recognized university. The minimum age of the candidates is 21 years, and the maximum age is 40 years. Some posts also require physical measurement/fitness to be eligible for the PCS exam as candidates have to undergo certain medical tests after the interview. The posts required for these physical measurement exams are – Assistant Conservator of Forests, Range Forest Officer, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Jail Superintendent, District Commandant Home Guard, Excise Inspector. for a quick understanding the qualifications required are-

- It is also necessary for the student to be an Indian citizen.
