Truecaller Guardians Safety app announced that it had crossed one million downloads worldwide, with 60 per cent downloads from India. The company said in a statement that Guardians, which was launched in March this year, has received a 4.5-star rating on the Google Play Store and is also included in the top 10 apps in the Maps and Navigation category.

The app supports multiple languages ​​, including Hindi, Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Indonesian and is also available on the Apple App Store. The company has added new features – satellite visual, location-based alerts and activity-based alerts to the app. Using satellite visuals, users can view the original map of Earth with precise topographical details.

The app will allow users to mark their most frequent locations, such as their home, school, or workplace, with a location-based alert feature. These locations can be safe, and parents can be informed whenever someone moves out of this secure location. This activity-based alert is an opt-in feature where users can enable it if they want to use it.

It is based on the user’s activity and uses Android’s Activity Recognition API to send a notification when someone starts speeding or driving 50 km/h.
